Mental Health First Aid
Participants will be provided with an understanding of how to support people with mental ill health diagnosis Participants will also be advised on what to expect should someone become unwell at work. An overview of available support will be given relating to whether a person is in crisis or not. This course takes about 50-mins to complete and culminates in a knowledge review of all the material taught. Upon successful completion of the course, a certificate will be generated.
Topics covered in this course are:
- An overview of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues.
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening.
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix.
