Creating a Heathier Workforce

With so many employees having worked from home for much of the Covid pandemic, certain Health issues have ‘taken a back seat’. For many, Covid was their primary concern, and any other medical issues may have been sidelined or people were too nervous to attend a hospital / GP surgery or simply felt they didn’t want to waste NHS time with something they felt might be trivial.

By Knowing your numbers, many health issues can be prevented with some simple health checks, but these checks have not been taking place during the pandemic, leaving many at risk of preventable diseases. This is the ideal opportunity for companies and organizations to offer simple Health checks for staff in the office, showing that employers value employee wellbeing at work. Employers will be far more likely to attend an appointment that is within the comfort of the workplace, where they don’t feel they are ‘wasting’ anyone’s time and doesn’t involve attending a medical facility.

Employee Health checks in the workplace can range form basic blood pressure and BMI checks to cholesterol, glucose and Lung function testing. These checks are no longer than 20 mins so don’t interfere with the workday and appointments are all pre booked so there is no waiting around involved either.

The health checks are commonly run as an annual event, giving employees the opportunity to compare results year to year. Some employers also include the health checks as part of an overall employee wellbeing program. However, even if you have never run this service in the past or it has been some time since your staff were screened, now is the ideal time to book employee Health checks as staff start to return the workplace showing them the importance of checking one’s health and ensuring you have a healthy workforce.
